Diagnostic Radiology Program

Overview

The Diagnostic Radiology Program at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Diagnostics Institute offers a range of state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services. All tests are performed by skilled technologists or doctors who use the latest technology to produce high quality images that assist in disease diagnosis.

The Diagnostic Radiology Program team is committed to providing a Patients First experience that is unique in the field of diagnostic imaging.

Images are interpreted by expert sub-specialized doctors who have completed additional fellowship training in areas such as neuroradiology, abdominal radiology, thoracic radiology, cardiovascular radiology, breast imaging or musculoskeletal imaging. Before, during, and after each imaging test, highly skilled technologists and nurses work closely with every patient to ensure their needs are met.

What We Treat

The Diagnostics Institute’s Diagnostic Radiology Program supports all other Institutes at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi to facilitate timely and accurate diagnosis of diseases. The program team takes part in a range of cross-specialty collaborations throughout the hospital to conduct imaging evaluations for the following:

Brain and Spine Disorders

Neuroradiologists work closely with doctors from the Neurological Institute and the Integrated Surgical Institute, as well as head and neck surgeons, to provide imaging for:

• Strokes
• Seizures
• Back pain
• Headaches
• Visual disorders
• Head and neck tumors
• Brain tumors
• Multiple sclerosis.

Respiratory Disorders

Thoracic radiologists collaborate with thoracic surgeons and Integrated Hospital Care Institute doctors to offer imaging for the diagnosis of:

• Asthma
• Emphysema
• Pneumonia
• Interstitial lung disease (a group of disorders characterized by the scarring of deep lung tissue)
• Tumors of the lung and mediastinum (the partition of the thoracic cavity)
• Lung cancer screening.

Abdominal and Pelvic Disorders

Abdominal, radiologists meet the diagnostic needs of the Digestive Disease Institute and urologic surgeons to assist their patients with:

• Liver disorder and fatty liver
• Abdominal pain
• Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
• Transplant
• Urinary incontinence
• Genitourinary disorders
• Oncology and cancer.

Cardiovascular Disorders

Cardiac radiologists collaborate with cardiologists and heart and vascular surgeons to offer imaging for the diagnosis of:

• Congenital heart disease
• Ischemic heart disease
• Myocardial dysfunction
• Heart disease, leaky heart valves
• Defects in the size and shape of the heart.
• Dyspnea
• Cardiac failure
• Valvular heart disease
• Coronary artery disease
• Coronary artery calcification.

Breast Health Issues

Breast imaging radiologists collaborate with breast surgeons and Breast Health & Cancer Program doctors to offer imaging for the diagnosis of:

• Breast cancer
• Breast infection
• Breast pain.

Bone and Joint Disorders

Musculoskeletal (MSK) radiologists support doctors in other specialties at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, including rheumatologists, podiatrists, surgeons, neurologists and emergency medicine doctors, to provide imaging support for conditions like:

• Rheumatological disorders
• Bone and joint disorders related to complications of diabetes
• Bone and soft tissue tumors: Masses of abnormal cells that occur in bones and soft tissues which can be benign (noncancerous) or malignant (cancerous).
