Visitation Policy

All you need to know about your visit to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

For the safety of our community, the following visitation requirements are aligned with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to ensure that our patients can continue to receive support from their family and loved ones in a safe environment. Visitors are politely requested to observe the visitation hours to ensure patient respect, privacy and recovery.

Ramadan Hours

Please note, throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, some of our clinic timings and visitation hours will be extended.

Clinic timings throughout Ramadan

To better serve the community during Ramadan, we will run evening clinics in a number of subspecialties. Clinic hours will be:

  • Evening Clinics: Monday to Friday, 8:30pm to 12:30am
  • Day Clinics: 9:00am to 3:30pm (8:30am to 12:30pm on Fridays)

In addition, we will be extending the visiting hours in both our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Acute Care Unit (ACU) as follows:

  • ACU: 9am to 12am, daily
  • ICU: 12pm to 12am, daily

Requirements for Inpatient Visitors

In an effort to enhance patient experience, and to provide our patients’ and their family and friends with more flexibility and convenience, we have recently extended inpatient visitation hours and visitor numbers.

Our inpatient patient visiting hours for all patient floors, are as following:

  • ACU (Acute Care Unit) Visitors:
    • Five visitors
    • One overnight visitor
    • 9:00am – 9:00 pm
  • ICU (Intense Care Unit) Visitors:
    • Three visitors
    • Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to visit ICU
    • 12:00pm – 9:00pm

Requirements for Outpatient Visitors

  • Only one visitor can be present with the patient in the examination/consultation room.
  • Visitors must adhere to infection control measures.

Guidelines for Responsible Adults of Surgical and Procedural Patients

  • Four visitors will be allowed per surgical patient and must stay in the procedural waiting area
  • Access to clinical areas is for patients only, or individual parents of pediatric patients.
