Zaid Zoumot, MBBS, is a Staff Physician in the Respiratory & Critical Care Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He specializes in interventional pulmonology, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, asthma, lung cancer, sleep disordered breathing, lung failure and bronchiectasis.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Zoumot worked as a Consultant Respiratory Physician at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK. In addition to caring for patients with a wide spectrum of respiratory conditions, Dr. Zoumot was heavily involved in research, hospital management and the training of physicians, particularly in the field of bronchoscopy.
Dr. Zoumot has published original research, reviews and editorials in peer reviewed medical journals and is currently an associate editor of European Respiratory Journal Open Research. He is regularly invited to speak and moderate at international scientific meetings and conferences.
Dr. Zoumot received his medical degree from the King's College London School of Medicine in London, UK. He completed his residency in General Internal Medicine in the London Deanery and then completed his fellowship in Respiratory Medicine and General Internal Medicine and later subspecialized in Interventional Pulmonology at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK. He undertook a part-time MSc in Respiratory Medicine during his fellowship, and he was awarded a PhD by Imperial College, London, UK for his thesis examining lung volume reduction for the treatment of severe emphysema.
Dr. Zoumot enjoys sports including tennis, football, and swimming. He maintains his love of basketball having been part of the Jordanian national team that took part in the finals of the FIBA Basketball World Championship for Junior Men in Greece, 1995.
Dr. Zoumot resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and two young children.
