Point of Care Testing

Overview

The Point of Care Testing team performs a range of vital analytical tests on patients at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. These tests are not performed within a laboratory setting and are administered by trained healthcare professionals at the point of patient care.

The Point of Care Testing team ensures that patients and caregivers have rapid access to important test results, allowing clinical decisions to be made quickly. The team are responsible for managing all aspects of Point of Care Testing, such as training, quality control, implementation and ensuring the accuracy of results.

Point of Care Testing includes things such as glucose meters, blood gas machines, and urine analysis dipsticks.
