Dr. Leslie Neems

Dr. Leslie Neems, MD, is a Staff Physician within the Ophthalmology Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Surgical Institute. She is an American board-certified oculoplastic surgeon and a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Neems was an oculoplastic surgeon in Tucson, Arizona. There she was also a Staff Physician at the Veterans Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona.

Previously, Dr. Neems worked at Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. While at Kaiser, she took on leadership roles becoming an area chief of Ophthalmology. Additionally, she won many awards for excellent patient care.

Dr. Neems received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She then completed an Ophthalmology residency at Northwestern University in Chicago. After residency, she completed a two-year Oculofacial Plastics Fellowship at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Neems is excited to practice at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. As an oculoplastic surgeon, she focuses on surgical treatment of the eyebrows, eyelids, orbit, lacrimal system, and midface. She has a special interest in cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery as well as reconstructive surgery following both trauma and skin cancer removal. Dr. Neems was drawn to her specialty because of the wide breadth of pathology she encounters daily. She enjoys establishing a meaningful relationship with her patients and working as a team to come up with a customized treatment plan.

Dr. Neems resides in Abu Dhabi with her husband and two young sons. In his spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, hiking, reading, and traveling.
