Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is also designated by the Department of Health, as the official Chest Pain and Stroke Center for the entire Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Any patient who requires medical attention for chest pain or stroke can expect to be fully treated at our facility, including evaluation, stabilization and rapid access to treatment.
In 2020, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Emergency Department became one of the first outside of the US to be awarded the prestigious Lantern Award. Given by the Emergency Nurses Association, the award recognizes emergency departments that demonstrate exceptional performance and delivery of the highest standards of care.

How do I know if I need to come to the Emergency Department?
The Emergency Department is open 24 hours, 365 days a year to address any medical concern. It does not have to be an emergency in order for us to help you. If there is an issue or symptom which is concerning you, please come in.
When is the best time to come to the Emergency Department?
We are available whenever you need us and operate around-the-clock, seven days a week. Busy times at the Emergency Department are not always predictable. However, our expert methods and Western practices allow us to assess patients correctly and to consistently provide efficient care.
How long will I have to wait to see a doctor?
Most of our patients are seen by a doctor within 10 minutes of arriving at the Emergency Department.
Can I receive emergency medical treatment at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi even if my insurance provider does not cover me?
Yes, in medical emergencies, all patients are able to receive initial medical treatment at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Emergency Department. Depending on their insurance coverage and payment preferences, patients and their families are provided the option to be transferred to another hospital once they are in a stable condition.
Can children be treated at the Emergency Department?
Yes, the Emergency Department sees patients of all ages including children. All patients who come to the Emergency Department are evaluated and treated to ensure their condition is stabilized.
Please note that Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi does not provide inpatient/clinic care for obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedics or pediatrics. Patients who present to the Emergency Department and need further care or admission for these specialties will be stabilized and given options for continued care.
