After being turned away from other hospitals due to the complexity of the heart surgery he needed, Akeef traveled to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi to receive the complicated cardiac care he needed.

Akeef was diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve and congestive heart failure in December 2022 and he was critically unwell. After visiting two leading hospitals in Pakistan, he was told they couldn’t perform the surgery he needed and that his chance of survival was very low.
