Dr. Tiago Carvalho

Dr. Tiago Carvalho, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician in Critical Care Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Tiago Carvalho worked in the Critical Care department at Hospital São José, a tertiary hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, specialized in medical and trauma patients and an ECMO care center. 
Before that, he worked at the Portuguese Emergency Medical Institute, Portugal, as an emergency physician in pre-hospital emergency, as a medical coordinator and helicopter emergency medical transfer and rescue. He was also head of the emergency department at the Hospital Vila Franca de Xira, a secondary level hospital in Portugal.

Dr.Tiago Carvalho received his medical degree from Lisbon University Medical School, Lisbon, Portugal. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Hospital Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal, and his fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine at Hospital Amadora-Sintra, Amadora, Portugal.

Dr. Tiago’s interests include hemodynamic evaluation, trauma, ECMO and pre-hospital emergency.

Dr. Tiago Carvalho resides in Abu Dhabi and enjoys traveling, scuba diving, basketball, football, and music.
