Dr. Patrick Czorlich

Dr. Patrick Czorlich, MD, is a Staff Physician within the Critical Care Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi´s Integrated Hospital Care Institute.

Prior to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Czorlich worked as Neuro-intensivist and the Senior Consultant of the Neurosurgical Critical Care Unit at University Medical Center-Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany. In addition, Dr. Czorlich also performed neurosurgical procedures in selected, complex cases of hydrocephalus.

Dr. Czorlich previously served as Head of Medical Education and Training and Residency Program Director in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. He also held the role of Co-Director of the Fellowship Program in Neurosurgical Critical Care. In addition, he oversaw the Risk and Quality Management for the Department of Neurosurgery.

Dr. Czorlich received his medical degree and MD from Justus-Liebig-University, Giessen, Germany, where he started his residency in Neurosurgery which he completed in Neurosurgery at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany.

He also completed his Neurocritical Care fellowship at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany.

In 2023, Dr. Czorlich was awarded the title of Professor by the University of Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany.

Dr. Czorlich has authored more than 65 peer-reviewed publications, with a research focus on subarachnoid and intracranial hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, and neurocritical care.

He also serves on the editorial boards of several medical journals.

Dr. Czorlich previously served on the Board of Directors of the German Neurocritical Care Society (DGNI), where he held the position of Second Vice President and President-Elect prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Czorlich resides in Abu Dhabi with his family. In his spare time, he enjoys studying history and world cultures, and spending quality time with his family.
