Dr. Juan Pablo Pantoja

Dr. Juan Pablo Pantoja, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician within the General Surgery Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Digestive Disease Institute.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Pantoja was Staff Surgeon in the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition in Mexico City, Mexico.

Dr. Pantoja received his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and completed his General Surgery residency in the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition in Mexico City. He then did an Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the same institution, followed by an Endocrine Surgery Fellowship in the Hospital Clinico y Provincial, Barcelona, Spain.

Following this, Dr. Pantoja returned to Mexico and worked as a Staff Surgeon in the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition until joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Pantoja has specialized in Bariatric, Endocrine and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. He is currently the President of the Mexican Board of Surgery.

Currently, Dr. Pantoja resides in Abu Dhabi, with his wife and two children. When he's not working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Pantoja enjoys photography and cooking.
