As part of the leadership team, Suma oversees the enterprise digital and information technology portfolio, including cybersecurity, Epic and enterprise applications, applied AI and analytics, enterprise architecture, enterprise resource planning, telecommunications, network and infrastructure, service desk and IT service management.
Prior to this appointment, Suma served as Executive Director of Applied AI and Analytics at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, having joined the organization as its first data scientist. She led the development of an in-house portfolio of clinical and operational AI products built on UAE-hosted infrastructure, and established the governance framework — human-in-command review, model validation, monitoring, and data-sovereignty controls aligned with Abu Dhabi Healthcare Information and Cyber Security Standard, Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, and Personal Data Protection Law standards — that supports the safe deployment of AI in a clinical setting, with predictive models now embedded in surgical scheduling, patient access, capacity planning and revenue integrity. She also serves on Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's AI Accelerator Task Force.
Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Suma spent 18 years at TSG Consulting, most recently as Vice President of Product Research and Development, leading the development of physician portals, computerized provider order entry, medication reconciliation, enterprise master patient index and interoperability platforms, and managing global engineering teams delivering hospital implementations across the United States and Canada.
Throughout her career, Suma has been recognized as a builder of technical organizations, an educator who has trained more than 60 caregivers through citizen analytics programs, and a mentor to students entering data science and artificial intelligence. Suma earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangalore University before receiving her Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas.
