Part of the UAE’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, our department offers cutting-edge and compassionate care from the initial planning stages through to post-transplant follow-up.
Our specialist transplant team performs life-saving liver transplants for patients whose liver can no longer function properly, when end-stage liver disease or liver cancer have been diagnosed. As the only liver transplant center in the UAE, we were the first to carry out a living donor liver transplant and the first to carry out a deceased donor liver transplant.
Our pancreas transplant team provides cutting-edge surgical and medical care across all stages of pancreas transplant procedures, for patients with severe, long-term or uncontrolled type 1 diabetes. We were the first in the UAE to perform pancreas transplants and the first facility in the UAE to perform combined liver-kidney and combined kidney-pancreas transplants.
