Arun Kumar, MBBS, is a Staff Physician in the Anesthesiology Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor in Anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio, US.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Kumar was a Consultant Adult Cardiac Anesthesiologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, for four years.
Between 2006 and 2011, he worked with the University Hospital of Wales as a Consultant in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and Intensive Care.
Dr. Kumar is actively involved in teaching and training medical students and residents. He is a regular faculty member at a number of national and international meetings and has lectured on Transesophageal Echocardiography and Cardiac problems in Non-Cardiac Surgery.
Dr. Kumar is a Fellow of Royal College of Anaesthetists, London. He is a Diplomate in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography of the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE, USA) and accredited in Transesophageal Echocardiography from the British Society of Echocardiography.
He obtained his MBBS and MD in Anesthesiology from JIPMER, Pondicherry, India, and underwent further training in Anesthesiology & Intensive Care in the UK. He completed his Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia & Intensive Care at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, and his Anesthesiology residency at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
