The Pharmacy is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offers a range of services, including:

Medication Refills and Home Delivery Service

To order medication refills and/or medication home delivery, please visit the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Patient Portal website or download the mobile app for free from your app store.

Eye Clinic Pharmacy

You can now pick up your eye clinic prescription from our dedicated Eye Clinic Pharmacy following your visit.

We’re conveniently located in the Eye Institute on Level 1, and open Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm.

Specialty Clinic Pharmacy

You can now pick up your Endocrinology Clinic prescription from our dedicated Specialty Clinic Pharmacy following your visit.

The Specialty Clinic Pharmacy is conveniently located on P1 near the Endocrinology Clinic, and is open Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 4:30pm.

Please note, it is closed between 12:30pm and 1:00pm Monday to Thursday and between 1:00pm and 2:00pm on Fridays.

At Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, we empower Caregivers to provide care aligned with our Patients First philosophy. We encourage you and your family members to be actively involved in your treatment by taking the following steps.

Your Caregiver (doctor, nurse and pharmacist) will always need to know what medications you are taking, so keep an accurate list of all of the medications you are currently taking to share with your Caregiver at all times, especially before your appointment or treatment.

It’s helpful to list the following:

  • Prescription medications, including topical creams, medication pens, patches, eye and ear drops
  • Over-the-counter products, like aspirin or cough medication
  • Herbal products and natural remedies
  • Dietary supplements

If you do not have a medication list, please bring your medications to the hospital with you. After your Caregiver has reviewed them, you should send your medications home with a family member, as you may not need them during your stay in the hospital

Your Caregiver will always ask about any allergies or adverse reactions you have or might have to a medication, food or any other substance, such as latex or dye, and your symptoms when exposed.

Make sure you keep a list of these allergies with you at all times. It’s important to speak to your Caregiver about your allergies or adverse reactions in the unlikely event that the Caregiver does not ask the question. If you remember a new detail that you did not mention before, just speak to your Caregiver.

As part of your care, your Caregiver will ask you if you drink alcohol, smoke or use any illegal or prescription drugs that have not been prescribed to you, as these substances may interfere with your treatment.

This information is important for your care and will remain confidential.

You have the right to ask your Caregiver about the medications you are being given, at any time.

Here are some examples of questions that you may like to ask:

  • What is the name of the medication I am being prescribed?
  • Why is it being prescribed to me?
  • How long should I be taking it for?
  • Are there any possible side effects?
  • Why I am not being prescribed the medication(s) that I normally take at home?

If you need more clarification, you should ask questions to help prevent a medication error.

Always make sure that you are wearing your Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi-issued ID bracelet and that your Caregiver reads or scans it prior to giving you any medication.

Your Caregiver will always ask you to state your name and another piece of personal information, such as your date of birth or home address, even if he or she already knows this information. This helps to prevent you from getting someone else’s medication.

When you are ready to go home, make sure you request an updated medication list if one has not already been provided to you. Your Caregiver will go over each medication with you and a family member so that you are familiar with:

  • The name of the medication you are taking
  • Why you are taking it
  • How long you will be taking it
  • Any possible side effects
  • When and how to obtain refills
  • What to do and who to call if you have any additional questions about your medications before and after you leave the hospital

Your Medication Refill

A refill is how many times you can get more of your medication before going back to see your doctor.Please refer to your medication label refill section to check the:

  1. Number of refills remaining.
  2. Date when the medication can be filled again, if refills are available.

You can request a refill within 10 days of the refill date on the label.

  2. Tell us which medication you need
  3. Stop by the pharmacy at your earliest convenience

For your safety, and before taking any medication, make sure that the information on your medication label is correct by checking the:

  1. Patient Name: This should match your name
  2. Medication Name: This should match the medication that was prescribed to you
  3. Medication Instructions: This should match the instructions that were given to you by your doctor during your clinic visit or hospital stay.
