Hanan Sheikh Ibrahim, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Medical Subspecialties Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. She specializes in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Ibrahim worked as an Internist and Geriatrician at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Dr. Ibhrahim trained at Cleveland Clinic in the US under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Palmer, concept originator of the Acute Care of Elderly (ACE) unit, which is now an internationally recognized model of hospital care for geriatric patients. She is a pioneer in the field of geriatric care in the UAE, having implemented the first Mobile Acute Care of Elderly (MACE) program of its kind in the region.
Dr. Ibrahim received her medical degree from the Damascus University Faculty of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. She completed her residency in Pulmonology at the University Hospital, Syrian Red Crescent Hospital, in Damascus, Syria, and in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. She completed her Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, US.
