Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Khalil spent his career both in private practice as a Hospitalist physician and in academic centers, training young doctors and medical students. He is American Board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Khalil received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies. He completed his residency at the Jewish Hospital of the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, USA.
After completing his residency, he joined a multi-specialty private practice group as a hospitalist, in Dayton, Ohio. He then transitioned to a hospitalist practice at the Veterans hospital in Dayton, Ohio and also served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine with Wright State University, Internal Medicine department from 2008 till 2013. He then moved to Houston, Texas, US, to join the Veterans Hospital and the Baylor College of Medicine as an academic hospitalist and assistant professor of internal medicine until his transition to Abu Dhabi
Dr. Khalil resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and 4 children. He enjoys outdoor activities including hiking and camping. He also enjoys wood working.
