How to prepare for the vaccine

  • Individuals taking the Pfizer- BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination will receive a health assessment before the vaccine is given.
  • Anyone age 12 and above can receive the vaccine, however, some individuals may not be eligible.
  • To find out if you are eligible, please download our factsheet for more information or answer the eligibility questions below. For any further COVID-19 vaccine-related questions, please visit the Department of Health website.
  • The vaccine is given in two doses, 21 days apart, to ensure maximum effectiveness. It takes a few weeks from receiving the second dose for immunity to be fully effective.
  • The Department of Health has authorized vaccine interchangeability provided that the patient has a consent form signed and stamped by their physician and themselves, clearing them to receive the Pfizer vaccine. To book clearance for vaccine interchangeability, you can schedule to see one of our providers via the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Mobile App.
If you’re visiting your provider outside of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, you can download, print, and present the DOH Vaccine Interchangeability Consent Form here and have your provider complete the form. Please ensure to bring a signed and stamped consent form with you upon your scheduled appointment for the Pfizer Vaccine.
