Dr. Seher Ahmad, MBChB, is a Staff Physician in the Medical Subspecialities Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, specializing in Family Medicine.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Ahmad worked as a consultant in family medicine for the North Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group, Manchester, UK, which is part of the UK National Health Service. In her role, she oversaw care for a broad range of illnesses in adults, children and in women's health.
Dr. Ahmad completed a pre-clinical medical degree at the University of Cambridge, with a master's degree in infectious pathology. This was followed by a clinical degree from the University of Manchester, UK, with specialty training at North Manchester General Hospital. She has completed further diplomas in child health, obstetrics, gynecology and holds a master's degree in medical leadership.
Dr. Ahmad is UK-board certified and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She has served as national chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners Training Committee, which included contributing to the family medicine curriculum and exam development for trainee doctors. She has also been an advisor to the UK Department of Health on developing policy for drug treatment services and served as chair of the North West GP Trainee Forum.
Dr. Ahmad has a keen interest in global public health, having served on the board of trustees for international NGO, Doctors Worldwide. Her role has included disaster relief work in Pakistan and development work in Gaza and Japan. She also received The Abbas Khan Memorial Award for Services to Medicine, during the British Muslim Awards in 2014.
