Richard (Rich) A. Vinroot, Jr., MD, is a Staff Physician in the Emergency Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to Joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Vinroot was a Senior Physician at Ochnser Health Systems of New Orleans, Louisiana, US, and was Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland/Ochsner Clinical School.
More recently, Dr. Vinroot worked with International SOS as an Emergency Medicine Specialist with Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Vinroot has been actively practicing Emergency Medicine for the last eight years, and worked as an Emergency Physician during the Hurricane Katrina and Haitian earthquake disasters. Following completion of his residency, Dr. Vinroot worked as a Field Physician with Doctors Without Borders in Nairobi, Kenya.
He completed his residency at Louisiana State University/Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, US, where he served as Chief Resident. He also has a master’s degree in Global Public Health
Dr. Vinroot is a military veteran and served as a Trauma Team Leader with the US Navy in Kandahar, Afghanistan, and as Director of Navy EMS Services in Djibouti, Horn of Africa.
Dr. Vinroot lives in Abu Dhabi and enjoys international travel, sports, and outdoor activities.
