Imran Mirza, MBBS, MS, is the Chief of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he leads the rapid response Clinical Pathology Laboratory and a reference Anatomic Pathology Laboratory. He also oversees the provision of Anatomical and Clinical Pathology services to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s 12 Institutes.
Previously, Dr. Mirza worked as an Associate Professor in the faculty of Medicine & Dentistry of University of Alberta, Canada, and served as the Director of the Molecular Pathology Lab at the University of Alberta Hospitals, Canada. He also served as Section Head of Molecular Pathology at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi.
A graduate of the University of Punjab in Pakistan and George Washington University in the US, Dr. Mirza completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at a Yale University affiliated program and completed his fellowship in Hematopathology at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, College of American Pathologists, and American Society for Clinical Pathology, as well as being a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Hematology, and Molecular Genetic Pathology.
Dr. Mirza lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and son. He enjoys reading literature, poetry, history, and philosophy. He also enjoys traveling and is passionate about music.
