Ashish Kumar, MD, is a Clinical Associate in the Anesthesiology Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Kumar worked as a Specialist Anesthesiologist at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi from 2015 to 2017. He also worked as an Attending Consultant in Anesthesia in Delhi, India, in two of the largest private multi-speciality hospitals there namely Fortis Memorial Research Institute from 2014 to 2015 and Max Devki Devi Superspeciality Hospital from 2013 to 2014.
From 2010 to 2013, Dr Kumar worked as Senior Resident in the Department of Anesthesia in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. During this period he was also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. His passion for his job and interest in academics earned Dr. Kumar the prestigious Col. G C Tandon Medal for best Senior Resident in Anesthesia in 2013.
Dr. Kumar has ample experience in general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, intensive care and neuroanaesthesia. His key areas of interest are pediatric anesthesia, ultrasound guided nerve blocks, acute pain management and labour analgesia.
Dr. Kumar studied medicine at Gauhati Medical College in Assam, India and graduated in 2005. After completing his internship in 2006, he pursued post-graduation degree course in Anesthesia and Critical Care in 2017 in the same institute. Dr. Kumar received his post-graduation degree in 2010.
Dr Kumar. lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and son. He is an avid reader and likes listening to music.
