Orientation

Understanding the work environment and Patient’s First philosophy of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is the starting point of your journey. You will take some time to familiarize yourself with the operational structure and build relationships with colleagues and internal stakeholders.

The orientation program comprises of three main parts:

  • New Caregiver Experience (5 days): Equipping you with the necessary information and resources to settle in - introducing you to performance standards and values, benefits, facilities, and the support services available during your tenure at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
  • Discipline Specific Orientation (3-7 weeks): A combination of clinical, theoretical, and skills-based sessions for all clinical graduate trainees to ensure safe practice.
  • Unit Orientation (1-2 weeks): An in-depth familiarization period of the various Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi disciplines and divisions (for non-clinical graduate trainees only).

Development

Gaining the specific skills and competencies to perform your position’s targeted responsibilities will be outlined in your development plan. The program offers various dynamic and engaging learning opportunities. Your progress as a caregiver will be assessed against discipline specific skills and competencies as identified in your development plan:

  • Technical competencies and skills: Technical skills are the core, unit and discipline specific practical skills that are needed to provide safe and effective patient care. Technical skill proficiency is achieved through a combination of factors, including knowledge, frequency and job rotations.
  • Non-Technical Competencies: Having a well-developed foundation of skills and knowledge also requires having the right attitude and behavior. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s CARING competencies formulate an essential component of the overall development program.

Assessment

Quarterly progress reviews with weekly and monthly check-ins with your assigned coach, educator or line manager serve as an opportunity to reflect on your practice, knowledge, and skills. Performance assessments aid you in reaching your full potential within Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Integration

Upon full completion of Wateen with satisfactory performance results, a formal graduation ceremony marks your successful completion of the program, confirming you in a permanent, professional-level position.
