Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, part of Mubadala’s healthcare network, has received the highest possible rating for its effective and timely care for patients, staff satisfaction and drive for innovation in the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi’s Muashir assessment, which is aligned with global best practices to evaluate healthcare providers in the Emirate.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) launched Muashir, the Abu Dhabi Quality Index, in collaboration with key stakeholders, healthcare providers and international experts to provide a transparent overview of quality in the sector to the public. The program rates Abu Dhabi’s healthcare providers’ performance in multiple dimensions that impact the community and assigns an overall quality ranking on a scale of one to five diamonds. The aim is to improve the quality of services offered, safety standards and patient experience.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi achieved ‘5 Diamonds’ for overall performance in the most recent Muashir Ranking. According to the report, the hospital demonstrated outstanding quality performance among Abu Dhabi healthcare facilities.
“Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi caregivers consistently strive to raise the bar for healthcare quality in the UAE and this ranking validates our efforts. We are here for the whole community when they need us most, and we are working hard every day to ensure that patients experience the highest standards of clinical care, driven by empathy, innovation and collaboration,” says Dr. Rakesh Suri, CEO of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
“We also believe that there is a direct correlation between our teams’ happiness and engagement, and patient satisfaction, safety and quality outcomes. Achieving the highest performance score in this area demonstrates that we are committed to taking care of our caregivers and creating a culture where teamwork, joy of purpose and accountability thrive.”
According to the ranking, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi demonstrated high or outstanding quality performance in areas including patient and staff happiness, patient voice, clinical care outcomes, research and innovation, and quality and healthcare regulations assurance.
The Abu Dhabi Quality Index Muashir program builds upon the authority’s earlier initiative, Jawda, that was introduced in 2014. DoH classifies healthcare facilities according to the Diamonds Rating System, with a public report issued annually. A single diamond denotes ‘good’, two diamonds is ‘very good’, three diamonds is ‘excellent’, four diamonds is ‘exceptional’, and five diamonds is ‘outstanding’.
