Dr. Rahul Kumar Amte

Dr. Rahul Kumar Amte, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician in the Critical Care Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Amte worked as a Consultant Intensivist in AIG Hospital, Hyderabad, India, a world renowned gastroenterology hospital, for 2 years. Prior to that, he worked as an Intensivist at Yashoda Hospital and Apollo Hospital Hyderabad, one of the largest chain of hospitals in India.

With a medical degree from Nagpur University, India, Dr. Amte has been trained in Anesthesia at Sir J.J Group of Hospitals and Grant Medical College, Mumbai, India, one of the oldest and most prestigious hospitals in India. He then completed a Diploma in Critical Care at the K.E.M Hospital, Pune, India, and the European Diploma in Critical Care, awarded by the European Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Amte has 15 years of Experience in the field of critical care medicine (with special interest in Neurocritical Care), management of sepsis, postoperative critical ill patients, acute poisoning, acute renal failure, and polytrauma. His research covers the field of quality improvement in critical care and Covid-related antibody which has been published in journals and presented in international conferences.  He is keenly focused on the use of ultrasound in the management of critically ill patients and critical care nutrition.

Dr. Amte has also been a teaching faculty for critical care fellows, postgraduate anesthesia residents, as well as BSc and MSc nursing students in various tertiary care hospitals in India.

In his spare time, Dr. Amte enjoys spending time with family, playing indoor games, travelling, astronomy and social work for poor patients.
