CME-Accredited Lectures to Feature Cleveland Clinic Physician Leaders
In anticipation of the opening of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and in a continued expression of commitment to medical education, Cleveland Clinic will launch a speaker series featuring the clinical chairman from the hospital system’s main campus in the United States.
In collaboration with Mubadala Healthcare and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, the Cleveland Clinic Speaker Series, Exploring the Frontiers of Medicine, will begin Monday, November 14, 2011, featuring Herbert Wiedemann Chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Respiratory Institute and Department Chairman of Pulmonary Allergy and Critical Care Medicine. This first event will be held at the Al Mamoura (A) Auditorium from 7-9pm. Applications for registration and requests for information on upcoming events should be sent to SpeakerSeriesRSVP@ccf.org.
Dr. Weidemann, who joined Cleveland Clinic in 1982, will be sharing clinical best practices and the latest treatment options related to the treatment of respiratory disease. The activity is approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. It is also accredited by Health Authority – Abu Dhabi for two Continued Medical Education (CME) hours.
The Cleveland Clinic Speaker Series will continue through the opening of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, with the next presentation scheduled for December 12 with Cleveland Clinic’s Chairman of the Digestive Disease Institute, John Fung.

Currently under construction on Al Maryah Island, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi will be a 360 (expandable to 490) bed multi-specialty hospital and an unparalleled extension of Cleveland Clinic’s model of care. In addition, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi has been under the management of Cleveland Clinic since 2007. The Cleveland Clinic Speaker Series is an opportunity to celebrate the collaboration between Cleveland Clinic, Mubadala and the government of Abu Dhabi.
